Power of Attorney

Power of Attorney is a legal document that authorizes one to act as the attorney or agent of the grantor (owner of the vehicle). This document may be used when buying or selling a vehicle, when issuing a duplicate title and if someone other than the owner of the vehicle is coming in to the office to obtain title for the owner. We do accept a DR2175 (State of Colorado Power of Attorney for Motor Vehicle Only). Please contact the Clerk and Recorder's Office to find out what other forms of Power of Attorney can be accepted.

Power of Attorney forms may not have any alterations or erasures on them or the document is null and void.

When the grantor of the Power of Attorney form is deceased, the document is no longer valid.
