The Friends of the Gilpin County Public Library will be holding their annual Book and Bake Sale July 18th & 19th during open hours. Most books are $1.00 or less. All proceeds go to support programming at the library.
After Hours in the Stacks: Mario Kart Competition
Saturday, July 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Join the library for its After Hours in the Stacks: Teens only events. This month we'll start the night off with a Mario Kart Competition and stay for a showing of Talladega Nights (Rated PG-13). Competitions starts at 4:30 p.m., movie starts at 6:00 p.m. (1hr 50 min). Pizza and snacks provided. Ages 11-19 only! No parents or younger siblings allowed. Registration is recommended but not required.

In this program, we will dive into the characteristics that define raptors and why they are important to our ecosystems. Audiences will discover the various types of birds of prey found all over the world, what it takes to care for a bird of prey, and learn how Nature's Educators is permitted to keep raptors. The audience will learn about their personal histories, anatomy, hunting strategies, and habitats.

The astronomy talk at the amphitheater will be followed by stargazing at Panorama Point.
