Free Build! with LEGO
Friday, August 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Library Meeting Room, Gilpin County Public Library, 15131 Hwy 119, Black Hawk
Drop in to create and play! Kids can let their imaginations run free while they construct their own creations using LEGO bricks. Duplo and Knex kits are also included. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided. LEGO bricks and creations will remain in the library after each program.

The local “crafters” will be meeting at the library this month to work on various projects. Drop by the meeting room anytime and bring your unfinished project. Projects are not limited to those working only on quilting and needlework. Anyone working on a craft is welcome to join!

Gilpin AstroDay
Friday, August 22
Community Center Lounge, 250 Norton Dr., Black Hawk from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Gilpin AstroDay is a chance to learn about astronomy and stargazing. The Friends of Gilpin County Community Center (FGCCC) will have star shows in an inflatable dome, presented by University of Colorado's Fiske Planetarium. They're also bringing a solar telescope so you can catch a SAFE view of the Sun and maybe see a few sunspots! FGCCC will also be offering some astronomy and space-related talks in the Multi Purpose Room starting around 1 p.m.
Then, that night, there's a star party beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Reverend Ridge campground in Golden Gate State Park. We'll start with a talk and then decamp to Panorama Point (weather permitting) for some stargazing.
ALL are welcome and it's free to attend. Special thanks to Alan Green Memorial Foundation for this chance to bring the stars to Gilpin!
36th Annual Cemetery Crawl

Visit Central City’s Catholic Cemetery on Eureka Street, one of eleven 19th century cemeteries in Gilpin County. A walk through the antiquated tombstones shows how difficult life could be. Actors introduce you to these early settlers and tell the stories of their lives at a time that played such an important role in shaping history. 2025 Black Hawk 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

Please join the City of Black Hawk at the Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado, for the 17th Annual Black Hawk 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
