The Planning Commission is a board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of land use planning and regulation. The Planning Commission is advisory to the Board of County Commissioners on all matters concerning land use and land subdivision. Residency in Gilpin County is required and the appointed individual will serve a term of three (3) years. The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 P.M.
There has been no Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) discussion of moving, closing or reducing Gilpin County Dispatch. Gilpin County wants to strengthen public safety dispatch services in response to Clear Creek County's possible transition of their dispatch system to the Jeffcom system.
