The Colorado Assembly had been contemplating suspending the Senior and Veteran’s Exemptions in 2020 due to the pandemic. They were, and are, seeking ways to fill the huge losses in the state’s economy.

Our Gilpin County Commissioners, along with a substantial number of County Commissioners from across the state, wrote letters to their respective legislators, and the bill sponsors, expressing their opposition to suspending the exemptions.

Fortunately for all our Seniors and Veterans, the exemptions have not been suspended for 2020!

Emergency funding is now available for rent and mortgage assistance to low-income families facing financial hardship due to economic disruption associated with COVID-19.

(DENVER) April 17, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has launched a short survey designed to track symptoms of COVID-19, even if the person experiencing symptoms is unable or does not need to get a test. Although the data collected using this survey cannot replace official case data confirmed by testing, it may help public health officials track early warning signs that an outbreak could be imminent in a given area or region.

Gilpin County Public Health, in collaboration with JCPH and CDPHE, is closely monitoring the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak that was first reported from Wuhan, China. AGMF is NOT accepting Grant Applications that are usually due by December 31st and funding given out in January. With the holidays and end of year obligations it can be difficult for organizations to apply by the deadline. Therefore the AGMF Board of Directors has rescheduled the Grant funding to be given out the month of October each year. The deadline for Grant applications will be September 30th. There will be a reminder of this change during the year. Good idea to put the date on your 2020 calendar!

CDOT is planning reconstruction of Hwy. 72 between Plainview Road (MM12.3) and Pinecliffe The project is expected to run 195 days with completion sometime in 2020. Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This notice states that the CDPHE intends to issue, deny, modify, revoke and reissue, terminate or reissue, Colorado Discharge Permit System permits, pursuant to the Clean Water Act, and the Colorado Water Quality Control Act. All permits are subject to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) review. WQCD has made tentative determinations in conjunction with EPA that limitations and conditions imposed in these permits implement all applicable statutes and regulations and water-quality standards.
