Apex Building Closed

The Apex Building at 495 Apex Valley Road is closed due plumbing issues. The following steps are being taken so that County business may continue without interruption:

Mountain Pine Beetle Workshop in January 

Attend one or all upcoming workshops (virtual and in-person options) to learn more about the Mountain Pine Beetle. This native beetle has expanded to epidemic levels in Gilpin County. Participants will learn about beetle life cycle, how to identify beetle impacts on trees, control options to treat infested trees, preventative options, and what to expect for future impacts in Gilpin County and beyond.

Pile Burning planned near Peaceful Valley and Rollinsville

BOULDER, Colo. (Dec. 29, 2022) – Firefighters plan to burn slash piles from multiple fuels reduction and hazardous tree removal projects on the Boulder Ranger District next week, as early as Tuesday, January 3, 2023, as conditions allow. Burning of these piles could take place throughout the upcoming snowy, winter months.

Colorado State Forest Service: Programs for Homeowners & Landowners

A variety of programs for homeowners and landowners exist through the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) and other natural resource agencies to assist them in managing their property.

The CSFS is committed to helping homeowners and landowners promote healthy and sustainable forest conditions. One of the ways we do this is by emphasizing action on state, private and other non-federal lands, and providing technical and financial assistance to those that have demonstrated a commitment to effectively manage their property.
