Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion

Chronic disease prevention and health promotion are essential for improving and maintaining human wellbeing and are foundational components of public health. Chronic disease prevention aims to reduce the occurrence of chronic and transmissible illnesses, while health promotion works to provide individuals and communities with the tools and resources they need to achieve their healthiest possible state.
