Senior Program
The Gilpin County Senior Program offers a variety of activities and services for the seniors of our community.
Adult Strengthen, Stretch and Balance Class
- The Adult Strengthen, Stretch and Balance Class is designed for mature adults to enhance cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and balance. It is free to Gilpin County seniors (anyone 60 years of age and older) and is paid for by donations.
- This class is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11:00am to12:00pm. And is held at the Gilpin County Community Center Dance Studio, which is located at: 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk, CO 80422.
- Please RSVP to stay for a nutritious and delicious Volunteers of America sponsored lunch at 12:15pm.

Scholarships to Classes
- Scholarships to Classes are available to any Gilpin County senior (anyone 60 years of age or older).
- Located at the Gilpin County Community Center, which is at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk, CO 80422.
- There are no forms to fill out or eligibility requirements. The money used for these scholarships has been donated to our program by local citizens, families of deceased members, and local businesses.
- To donate to this fund or to request a scholarship please contact the Senior Services Coordinator.
Senior Nutrition and Activities
- Hot, nutritious, and delicious lunches for seniors and their spouses are served three times per week.
- Lunches are held at the Gilpin County Community Center, which is at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk, CO 80422.
- The Senior Program also provides educational and recreational activities.
- Please contact the Senior Services Coordinator for more information and to sign up for the monthly mailing list of Senior Program events.
Senior Transportation
- Transportation for seniors and their spouses living in Gilpin County including scheduled senior luncheons, weekly grocery shopping, and medical/dental visits. Door-to-door service is provided.
