The bike race, NedGravel, is taking place Saturday, July 13. One of the five courses will take riders through Gilpin County - the rest will be in Boulder County around Nederland. While participants in the ride should be obeying rules of the road, please note the additional potential traffic and congestion during the hours of the ride which will be approximately 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Gilpin County portion of the course is displayed in the attached image. Highway 119 will be impacted along with several county roads. Below is a description of the course within Gilpin County:
The Ultra Course starts in front of Quercio Field on East St. in Nederland. The Course starts facing South and heads South on East St. and turns West up 1st St. At HWY 72/119 the course turns left and stays on HWY72/119 to Tolland Rd. where the course turns right. The course follows Tolland Rd and Turns right onto Mammoth Gulch (CR4). At the top of Mammoth Gulch the course turns left onto Elk Park Rd. At the end of Elk Park Rd the course turns right onto Apex Valley Rd. At the intersection of Apex Valley Rd and HWY 119 the course turns left. This intersection will be controlled by a certified flagger. The course then makes a left onto Hughesville Rd. which will be controlled by a CSP Trooper. At the top of Hughesville Rd, the course turns left onto Juniper and then another left onto HWY 72. The course then turns right onto Missouri Gulch Rd and continues onto Gamble Gulch Rd. The course then turns right back onto HWY 72. This intersection will be controlled by a certified flagger. The course then turns left onto S. Beaver Creek. At the bottom of S. Beaver Creek the course turns right onto HWY 72., then a quick left onto CR97. At the top of CR97 the course turns left onto Magnolia Rd. The course then turns right onto HWY 72/119 and heads north back into Nederland.
