Gilpin County, CO – June 2025
This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Gilpin County Historic Courthouse, a cornerstone of our community and one of the most iconic buildings in the county. In celebration of this milestone and to preserve the building's historical integrity, restoration work is underway on several key architectural features.
As part of the project, the front entrance doors and porch ceiling are being refinished to restore their original beauty and ensure their preservation for generations to come. These elements are vital to the courthouse’s historic character and require careful craftsmanship to maintain their legacy.
Please note:
The front entrance will be closed from June 19 through July 14 while the restoration takes place. During this time, all visitors should use the back entrances.
Gilpin County appreciates your patience and understanding as we complete this important work. We look forward to unveiling a refreshed and revitalized courthouse entrance as part of this historic anniversary.
