Redemptions

Redemption Payment is made to the Treasurer for the amount of delinquent taxes, delinquent interest, advertising fees, any late fee, and any other additional costs incurred during the tax lien process. Payments will only be accepted from the owner, their agent, or any other person having a legal or equitable claim by a holder of a tax lien sale certificate against the property at any time before the execution of a Treasurer's Deed (CRS 39-12-103(1)). If an application for a Treasurer's Deed has been accepted, additional fees, called Deed costs, may be due upon redemption. (Please see Treasurer's Deed for additional information regarding the deed process.) Please contact our office for current redemption costs on your property.

All Redemption Payments Must be Made by Cash or Certified Funds

Interest is calculated on a monthly basis. Therefore, the amount due changes monthly. If mailed, postmarks are NOT acceptable.

In Order To Make Payment you must call the Treasurer's Office at 303-582-5222 and request the "Projected Redemption Form." If it is signed by someone other than the owner, you must provide legal proof claim. The signed Projected Redemption Form and proper currency must in the Treasurer's Office by noon on or before the last working day of the month.

Upon payment, the Treasurer shall issue a Certificate of Redemption. The Certificate includes the legal description of the tract of land redeemed, the date of redemption and the amount paid. The Certificate will be mailed to the party making payment.

If you would like further information about the redemption process, please contact the Treasurer's Office at 303-582-5222.
