Paint Recycling

Gilpin County was fortunate to partner with PaintCare Colorado for paint (and stain) recycling days for the past few years.   PaintCare is changing their collection system, and will not be offering this service in 2024.

In the meantime, remember you can take up to 5 cans at a time to any participating Paint Care retailer, including Ace Hardware in Nederland and most Sherwin Williams stores.   Go to PaintCare Colorado's website to locate a recycling center near you.  https://www.paintcare.org/drop-off-sites/

The transfer station can also accept dried and hardened paint, but no liquids.  Purchase paint hardener at your local hardware store, or add kitty litter to the can to dry it out.
