Clear Creek Economic Development Corp. Releases Region 3 Economic Resilience Framework: A Collaborative Pathway for Prosperous Growth

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, CO - The Clear Creek Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) is proud to announce the launch of the Region 3 Economic Resilience Framework. This initiative is a grand plan that organizes the region's vision and establishes a clear path for action. It is designed to work through partnerships to address pressing issues affecting the growth and economic prosperity in Clear Creek and Gilpin counties (Region 3).

Born from the productive discussions at the inaugural 2024 Rural Resilience Economic Development Mixer and Leadership Breakfast, this initiative has numerous contributors, including elected leadership, community stakeholders, and regional partners such as the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG).

"The Economic Resilience Framework is not just another document, it’s a call for action," said Lindsey Valdez, President and CEO of the CCEDC. "We’ve studied, we’ve planned, and now it’s time to act on what we've learned. This framework is the result of hard work, expert insight, and the valuable input of our community members."

The framework takes into consideration findings from numerous studies conducted in our region on economic diversification and resilience, workforce development, housing, childcare, and transportation, among others. It is designed to prompt action, not just by the CCEDC, but by everyone with a stake in the region's economic future.

Valdez emphasized that the framework is not intended to be a list of tasks for the CCEDC to execute alone. It is designed to inspire and identify partnerships with local, regional, and state organizations to address economic development in both Clear Creek and Gilpin counties.

"Our goal is to approach economic development holistically," Valdez said. "We want to tap into the power of partnerships to create a vibrant and resilient future for our region. This is a shared vision that we believe can drive real, meaningful results."

The Economic Resilience Framework is a living document, designed to evolve and adapt to the region's changing needs and circumstances. The CCEDC plans to assemble a Regional Resilience Team made up of policymakers, leaders in the identified areas of focus, and community stakeholders to champion this work. The CCEDC encourages the community to consider how they might contribute to this initiative and help bring its vision to life.

The CCEDC will be hosting its 2nd Annual Rural Resilience Economic Development Mixer and Leadership Breakfast at the Teller House in Central City on February 13-14, 2025, to introduce the newly formed Regional Resilience Team and engage the community in this important work!
