On April 8, 2025, Gilpin County became the first county to join the National Association Against iGaming (NAAiG), aligning with the City of Black Hawk, the first city member. At the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) meeting, Jason Gumer—EVP & General Counsel of Monarch Casino & Resort and NAAiG Board member—highlighted the risks of iGaming to our communities.
NAAiG is a coalition dedicated to preserving local jobs, ensuring economic stability, and promoting responsible gaming practices. Studies show that iGaming can harm local economies by reducing brick-and-mortar casino revenues and increasing gambling addiction rates.
By joining NAAiG, Gilpin County demonstrates its commitment to protecting residents from the adverse effects of online gambling.
