Call for Applications - Planning Commission Expiring Terms and Vacancy
Gilpin County is accepting applications to fill three Planning Commission terms expiring December 31, 2025, and one additional vacancy for the remainder of a term ending December 31, 2026. Current members whose terms are expiring are welcome to reapply.
The Planning Commission is a nine-member advisory board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Commission reviews land use, subdivision, zoning, and related planning matters and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
All members must be full-time residents of Gilpin County.
Interested residents are invited to submit a letter of interest and should include a resume or statement of qualifications. After applications are submitted, applicants will be provided with a short questionnaire, which must be completed and returned prior to interviews with the Planning Commission. Call for Applications - Historic Preservation Commission Expiring Term and Alternate Vacancy
Gilpin County is accepting applications to fill one Historic Preservation Commission term expiring December 31, 2025, and one vacancy for the Alternate position. Current members whose terms are expiring are welcome to reapply.
The Historic Preservation Commission is a six-member body (five regular members and one alternate) appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Alternate serves as a voting member whenever a regular member is absent and may be appointed for a full term.
Applicants must demonstrate an interest, competence, or knowledge in historic preservation. Because the Commission must maintain at least 40% professional membership, the expiring regular seat must be filled by an applicant with a professional preservation background (e.g., history, architecture, archaeology, planning, architectural history, or similar). The current alternate seat does not require professional credentials or county residency, though both are highly desirable.
Interested individuals are invited to submit a letter of interest and should include a resume or statement of qualifications. Applicants will be scheduled for an interview with the Historic Preservation Commission before recommendations are forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for appointment.
The deadline for applications is November 10, 2025.
