Food Bank Volunteers Needed

The Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Pantry at Gold Mountain Village in Central City are in need of volunteers the third Tuesday of every month from 10:15 - 12:30 p.m.

Free Food for Seniors

This is based on monthly income and made available through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Also available is the Mobile Pantry, which is at Gold Mountain Village every third Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Scholarships to Classes

Scholarships to classes at the Gilpin County Community Center are available to any Gilpin County senior 60 years of age or older. There are no forms to fill out or eligibility requirements. The money used for these scholarships has been donated to our program by local citizens, families of deceased members and local businesses. To donate to this fund or to request a scholarship please call Mary Ellen @303.582.5444.

Senior Nutrition and Activities

Hot, nutritious, and delicious lunches for seniors and their spouses are served twice a week at the Community Center. The Senior Program also provides educational and recreational activities. Call to sign up to be put on the monthly mailing list of calendar of events.

Senior Resource Center - Assistance for Visually Impaired Older Adults

Funding is available for low vision Seniors’ Resource Center clients to improve quality of life.

Senior Transportation

Transportation for seniors and their spouses living in Gilpin County including scheduled senior luncheons, weekly grocery shopping, and medical/dental visits. Door-to-door service is provided.
